First trip of the year; Paris.
4th January – 7th January
It was another early start like last years’ trip to Paris, however this time I didn’t want to run the risk of sleeping through my alarm and being woken by my mum saying, ‘it’s time to leave’ again and so this time I didn’t go to bed. We were leaving the house at 2:30am so what was the point in sleeping? I had to finish packing and do my makeup anyway! So we left the house and headed to London St Pancras where we were meeting my friend Ruby who was coming with us. We boarded at 5:40am and we were on our way. I was shattered. After a 2 hour journey of feeling ill and falling asleep we were in Paris. We weren’t staying here long, just for the day, so we headed straight out.
Our first stop was a vegan cafe called ‘Cloud Cakes’ where we had breakfast. THEY HAD AMAZING FOOD. Ruby and I had pancakes and my mum had an almond croissant, we couldn’t believe it was all vegan. Definitely would eat there again next time I’m in Paris.
More walking around but this time we were heading to the Lourve Museum. We saw the Mona Lisa which had a rubbish viewing system where everyone just piled together and pushed their way through to see it. It’s cool to say I’ve done it but wouldn’t necessary rush back to do it again. However, the marble statues in the museum were incredible and we even saw The Winged Victory of Samothrace and Venus De Milo, both of these were really amazing.
So skipping ahead a couple of days, as we weren’t in Paris the whole trip. We actually headed to Marne la Vallee Chessy on the day we got to Paris (4th Jan) to meet my sister and to then head to our hotel to get ready for Disney in the morning (that will all be in a separate post!)
Anyway, on our last day we headed back to Paris so we could catch the Eurostar home. We literally only had two hours before we had to be back at Gare du Nord and so we stepped it out and got the Metro to the Notre Dame! It was a quick visit but I was glad we went.
Paris is such a beautiful place, hoping to be back and able to spend longer next time to explore it more.
